Google has decided to abandon its Stadia game development division

Simultaneously with the launch of the Google Stadia service, they also set up an in-house game development division to create their own original games.

However, Google has announced that it will be discontinuing the in-house game development studio and focusing on other game creators’ games instead.

Phil Harrison, General Manager, Google Stadia, points out that creating good quality games involves a significant amount of investment over a number of years.

They also point out that game studios in Los Angeles and Montreal, which used to be under the “Stadia Games and Entertainment” brand, will be shut down and their employees will be transferred to other positions.
